Giving Back to Our Community in Norristown, PA
We have spent 176 years taking care of homes, but that’s only part of it. Behind every front door is a family, and those families are our neighbors. They are the people we see around town and at local events throughout the year.
Giving back is how we say thank you to the community that has trusted us for generations. It is not a marketing program. It is simply what a family business does for the place it calls home.
Why Giving Back Matters to Us
Davis Modern has been family-owned since 1850. Over that time, we have learned that a business is only as strong as the community around it. When our neighbors do well, we all do well.
As a family-run company, we treat our employees and customers as part of our family. That same spirit carries over into the community. When a neighbor needs a hand, we want to be among the first to offer one.
We also believe the best way to give back is to show up in person. Our family and our team take part in these efforts directly, and we invite our customers to join us whenever they can.
Patrician Society Food Drive
Too many local families struggle to keep food on the table, especially during the colder months when heating bills climb, and budgets get tight. That is why we support the Patrician Society with a food drive.
Every donation helps the Patrician Society get food to the people who need it most. A can of soup or a box of cereal can make a real difference for a family going through a hard time.
If you would like to help, it is easy to get involved. Take a look at the Patrician Society’s list of most needed items, or shop their Amazon wish list and have items shipped directly. Every donation, big or small, helps.
Toys for Tots
The holidays should be a happy time for every child. Toys for Tots, a national program run by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve, works to make that happen by collecting toys, books, and gifts for children in need.
For the 2024 holiday season, Davis Modern served as a donation drop-off location for Toys for Tots. Customers and neighbors brought in new toys and gifts, and our team made sure they reached their destinations.
The program does more than hand out presents. A gift during the holidays can give a child a sense of being seen and remembered, and that feeling can stay with them for a long time. We were proud to play a small part in that, and grateful to everyone who stopped by to donate.
Meeting Our Neighbors at the Local Home Show
Some of our favorite days of the year are spent at the local home show. It is a chance to step away from service calls and spend time talking with homeowners face-to-face.
We have set up our booth at the home show in 2022, 2025, and 2026, and each year we look forward to it a little more. Families stop by to ask questions about their heating and cooling systems, and kids stop by to say hello. It is one of the best ways we know to meet the people in our community.
There is no hard sell at our booth. We are there to answer questions, share what we know, and get to know the people we serve a little better. Those conversations remind us why we love what we do.
