“I am writing to file a complaint for a false heater certificate your
company produced for my property at 709 West Waverly Road Glenside PA
19038.
Below are the details:
1. On September 9, 2025, I received emails from your Service
Department with a heater certificate which states:
"Performed heat certification failed crack heat exchanger. Needs new
one need to checking pricing and availability. 9/9/25 amendment:,
though the paperwork shows 8 ppm of carbon monoxide, our pictures
support the findings that the heat exchanger is cracked and therefore
does not pass the inspection. Our heater certification sent to you on
9/3/25 is inaccurate. This heater does not pass certification until
the heat exchanger is replaced."
2. Eleven photos were provided to me showing cracks on the heat
exchanger. In the photos, the crack is apparent.
3. An estimate of $1904 was provided by your company to replace the
heat exchanger.
4. I hired another HVAC company to re-check the heater. To my
surprise, I was informed that there is no crack on the heat exchanger.
Below is what the HVAC company stated:
"We could not find the heat exchanger cracks described by the other
company and found the original heat exchanger to be structurally
intact and fully functional."
Please see the photos and videos produced by the HVAC company as evidence.
5, I instructed the HVAC company technician to complete the
replacement of the heat exchanger anyway since the old one was already
removed and I had to pay for the labor anyway which is the majority of
the repair expenses.
6, The cost paid to the HVAC is $1666.08. I was told that I will not
be able to get the parts reimbursed by the manufacturer warranty since
they will deny my claim if the old parts are still good.
7, It is apparent that the heater certificate produced by your
technician is false. The photos of the cracked heat exchanger are from
nowhere.
8, I am deeply frustrated and angry with this terrible situation. I
feel that I am cheated. The false certificate cost me many hours to
talk to your office and the other HVAC, delayed timeline to pass the
heater inspection required by the township, and the money cost ($212
paid to you for the heater inspection and $1666.08 to the other HVAC
company).
9, My requests:
1), Please investigate how the fake photos were produced and provided.
2), Please reimburse me the cost $1878.08 ($212 to Davis and $1666.08
to the other HVAC).
3, An apology to me and a discipline to the technician responsible for
the false certificate and photos.
If my requests are not satisfied, I will submit my complaint to the
senior management of your company, and to the Bureau of Good Business,
as well as posting this incident on various websites and social media.
Thanks for your time and consideration.
Regards,,
James”
